Calf Still Swollen
Even though Dan has done everything the doctor said to do, (walk 10 minutes 2 times a day, prop his foot higher than his heart often, eat vegetables, take 5 mg Enduron) his right calf and foot are still swollen and painful. It's past 11:30 p.m., time to be asleep, but he is putting an ice pack on his foot in an effort to lower the pain. Thngs like this often happen when it's time to go to bed. Since his surgery, a good night's rest is a seldom thing.
The drain in his thigh seems to be working well. Today the amount of fluid measured 400 cc as compared to 300 cc on Friday. But in the past week, it has gradually drained less and less. Once it is below 100 cc, the drain can be removed from Dan's thigh.
Tonight as I was reading my Bible, I came to this passage in Acts 7:55-56, "Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. 'Look,' he said, I see heaven open and the son of Man standing at the right hand of God....Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.' " It is our prayer that one day our Lord Jesus will receive our spirit, and take us home just as He did Stephen. That's what we are living for. -- Anne and Dan
