Another Vacation Day!
We awoke to a beautiful, sunny sky this morning. On this 2nd day without medical appointments, God gave us a day of rest surrounded by loving people. Even as I write this, it feels strange to say we came all this way expecting to have 5 days filled with tests and meetings with doctors...and instead, we have had 1 seven hour medical day, and two blessed days of peace and joy.
Before we came, I knew there's a reason we are staying with Hilda. I thought, "maybe this will bless Hilda, or her son in law, Bernie, and family." They are close friends with our Bob and Donna. It was Bernie and Shari after all who arranged that we stay with her.
This afternoon, Dan's cousin, Cindy took us to a delightful late lunch at a quiet Italian restaurant where we sat and talked for several hours. We wanted her to meet Hilda, so Cindy came "home" with us. After a couple of hours of fun and interesting conversation, Cindy went home happy to have a new friend - Hilda.
At 9 pm, Hilda's sister, a cancer survivor, and her significant other came to meet us. Again, we had such a great visit - talking about important life matters sprinkled with funny stories about our life experiences. While we sat around the table eating chocolate cake, laughing, relaxing, it came to me..."Surprise! The people who are being blessed by us staying with Hilda are Dan and Anne!" God is good. God is always good! -- Anne and Dan
