A Different Kind of Day

Dan had the day off today, no tests, no interviews. Being very tired from Monday's ordeal, we rested all morning. Dan listened to a book on CD. I visited with our kind hostess, Hilda, answered e-mails, wrote friends on Facebook. At 2 p.m., we found a quiet Mexican restaurant with outstanding food about 5 minutes drive from the condo.

After a leisurely lunch, we strolled through a beautiful park with tall, tall trees, camellia bushes covered with blooms, and azalea bushes just beginning to bloom. Walking in quiet nature, we can feel what it must have been like to walk with God in the Garden of Eden. We feel His closeness, see His hand in everything. This always restores our spirits.

Tonight it is supposed to get down near freezing, but Wednesday is forecast to be cool and sunny...our kind of weather. We are grateful for a quiet interlude before Dan has the MRI on Thursday. We have much to be grateful about tonight - a good place to stay, clothes to wear, food to eat, and kind people to love us. God has put it in our hearts to help the abused children in Romania. We are grateful that Jesus helps us bring healing to them. Jesus said in Mark 9:37, "Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the One who sent me." We are grateful that so many of you are helping us welcome the little ones. -- Anne and Dan
