Sunday - Our Favorite Day
What a blessing to be back in Bible class this morning! The discussion opened with Ephesians 6:1 - 18. It seemed designed to help us in Dan's fight against cancer. For years, we have been asked, "Why do good people suffer?" Now, the question comes, "Why should Dan have cancer? What has he done to deserve this?" I believe an answer is in Ephesians.
I took portions of this long passage and put them together. You can look up the entire passage if you wish. Ephesians 6:1 - 18 says, "Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against....the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms....Stand firm then, with the belt of truth....shield of faith....pray in the Spirit....be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints." (By the way, the word saint here means anyone who is a Christian.)
Being reminded of this passage, we face Monday with courage as we arrange appointments to begin the radiation treatments. We thank God that today was a day of encouragement, rest, and peace for us.
