MDA Reports

We were surprised, but very happy when Paul, Dr. Lin's Assistant phoned today! We were even happier when Paul said, "The MRI did not find any other cancers. The problem is contained in your right thigh. The recommended treatment is radiation."

That agrees completely with what our doctors here at Texas Oncology in Bedford said in the very beginning. The only new information MDA provided was 1. a different name for the mass - in plain English the name means a sarcoma outside the bone but with tiny bone fragments in the muscle mass. 2. there is a reactive lymph node that is not a problem but bears watching.

So, what are we looking at? The next step is to make an appointment with Dr. Dubey, Dan's radiologist, to begin treatment. Dr. Dubey spoke of 7 weeks of radiation, 5 days a week. After that, Dan has an appointmenton April 25 for blood work and chest x-ray with the Oncologist, Dr. Anderson.

Dr. Dubey has advised us that a major side effect of radiation treatment is that each treatment will make Dan very tired. As I think about Dan being extremely fatigued for 7 weeks, my mind froze for a second. Even at 74, he is so vital and strong. I don't even know what to ask you to pray for. But this I do know, "Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31. My God is real, and He keeps his promises.
