Appointment with Surgeon

This afternoon Dr. Elieson said that Dan's incision looks good, but he wants Dan to talk with Dan's internist about the continuing swelling in the right calf. Perhaps the internist will want to prescribe medication to decrease the swelling.

Dr. Elieson suggested that Dan gently wrap an elastic bandage around his thigh. As long as it does not slow down circulation, it can help the excess fluid drain out of the leg better. It may also encourage the edges of the cavity to grow together sooner. The surgeon pointed out that this is 5 weeks, 1 day since the surgery. It takes 6 - 8 weeks for such a cavity to heal.

We hope to hear Thursday from MD Anderson about when Dan is to go there for tests.

A prayer request has come from Adolf Papp in St. George. The father of our friend, Huba, is having emergency surgery in Bucharest, Romania, in a few hours. He has a Stage IV, 2.5 inch cancererous tumor in his neck. The surgery will last 5 hours, and is dangerous because it is so near the major veins in his neck. Please, pray God's hands to guide the surgeon, for safety and healing for Huba's father...and peace for him as well as all his family and friends who are so worried about him. Thank you for joining us in prayer for these fine people.
